About Us
The clinical model built for those systems overlook.
SAMMs bridges the gap when surface-level engagement and referral loops fail, providing immediate, evidence-based clinical intervention for profound and overlapping complex needs

What is SAMMs
A clinical framework that turns complexity into capacity.
SAMMs (Safety, Awareness, Motivation & Management) is an evidence-based, neuro-informed framework that stabilises crisis, strengthens capacity, and integrates learning into lasting behavioural change.
Developed through more than 30,000 hours of frontline practice and lived experience, SAMMs translates neuroscience into practical recovery across employment, justice, health, and community systems.

Step 1
Regulate
To stabilise the nervous system and create safety before any behavioural change begins.
SAMMs clinicians begin by calming the physiological stress response - reducing overwhelm, threat sensitivity, and reactivity. Participants learn emotional regulation, grounding, and awareness techniques that prepare the brain for capacity-building and employment readiness.
The People Behind SAMMs
Led by CEO Sharon Mamo, the program is grounded in lived experience and refined through more than 15 years of frontline work and over 30,000 appointments in the spaces most systems avoid. In 2025, Sharon and Montana Nicoloutsopoulos, Director of Clinical Programs and an AASW Social Worker of the Year nominee, researched, reviewed, and manualised the model into a fully developed, evidence-based framework.
SAMMs bridges critical access gaps with immediate, evidence-based intervention, not surface-level engagement or endless referral loops. Delivered by embedded Complex Needs Clinicians, it integrates trauma-informed therapy, neuroscience, and behavioural activation to regulate the brain, build capacity, and sustain change.
Our Promise
Creating New Pathways bridges lived experience and clinical innovation through SAMMs to unlock potential and recovery.
Our Mission
To reduce systemic risk by stabilising crisis, building capacity, and enabling sustainable participation across key systems.
Our Vision
To transform lived experience into recovery, capacity, and participation for the most complex and overlooked participants.
What is SAMMs
A clinical framework that turns complexity into capacity.
SAMMS partners with organisations to help people thrive through trauma-informed and neuro-informed practice.
Our programs strengthen safety, connection, and self-awareness, giving teams the clarity and care to create lasting impact through connection, not correction.

Our Point Of Difference
Our team combines clinical expertise, systemic insight, and human understanding to create change that lasts.
Original, Evidence-Built, Humanly Designed
A 15-year, ground-up framework shaped by lived experience and clinical rigour, built to fill a gap the system didn’t know how to name.

We Don’t Give Up
While other systems exit disengaged participants, SAMMs adapts and stays because we are often the last door open.

Regulation Before Expectation
We stabilise the brain first by following a clear sequence, Regulate → Build Capacity → Integrate, so change is safe and sustainable.

Results That Reshape Systems
By addressing what drives behaviour, SAMMs reduces avoidable cost and harm across health, housing, and justice while improving long-term outcomes.

Clinical Integrity, Human Language
Highly trained clinicians deliver evidence-based care in language people trust, bringing precision without losing human connection.

Courage Over Compliance
We challenge outdated frameworks and speak the truth systems avoid because the people we serve cannot afford quiet comfort.

Recognised Innovation, Real Impact
International recognition matters, but the real proof is stabilised participants, reunited families, and lives rebuilt.

Complex Needs Clinicians
Understanding complexity through connection
Complexity through connection
Complexity through connection
SAMMs Complex Needs Clinicians are qualified allied-health professionals who complete intensive SAMMs clinical training. They are part therapist, part system-navigator, stabilising crisis, strengthening capacity, and creating pathways where none previously existed.
Every clinician is trained in the SAMMs Applied Neuro-Informed Model and uses our manualised framework, including structured assessments for risk, need, and capacity. We work alongside internal Case Support Workers to action urgent triage and case management, and collaborate with consulting psychiatrists and lawyers to deliver comprehensive, wrap-around support.
Our clinicians use trauma-informed, neuro-informed, and systems-aware practice to understand the deeper patterns behind behaviour.
Working across justice, housing, health, and employment systems, they coordinate holistic support that helps participants move from crisis to lasting stability and growth.
